BRKTHRU is proud to host the fifth annual Hampton Homecoming 5K run in memory of Yusuf Scott Neville. The run will take place on Sunday, October 27th, at 10:00am and will conclude with post-run activities at 1:00pm.
The run is intended to be a platform to celebrate the life and memory of a friend, classmate, and brother. Why run? Yusuf stressed the importance of being active and enjoying the gifts of running. Researchers have found that the endorphins released while running actually attach themselves to parts of the brain responsible for emotion. The more endorphins released, the stronger the feeling of euphoria. Running also releases serotonin, which is a natural mood lifter.
BRKTHRU finds purpose in revealing that unknown in the whole health of those closest to us. Whether a friend is simply having a bad day or there is something deeper, BRKTHRU aims to change the way we care about and for one another's mental fitness.
All monies from registration will go to fund the non-profit, BRKTHRU, started in Yusuf's honor and will help cover expenses for the 5K run. If you can't make the run, don’t worry, you can make your presence known and support by signing to join the BRKTHRU Virtual Team.
